Connecting Timequip to Claude

Timequip ships a first-party connector for Claude built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, Claude can browse your projects, create and update tasks, post comments, manage team members, and summarize your dashboard — directly from a conversation, using only the permissions you grant.

Requirements

Connect the Timequip connector

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the connector URL: https://mcp.timequip.com/mcp
  4. Click Add, then Connect. You are redirected to the Timequip sign-in page.
  5. Sign in and choose the account this connection should use. Each connection is bound to exactly one Timequip account.
  6. Review the requested permissions and approve. Read access and each type of write access (tasks, comments, projects, members) are separate scopes, so you control exactly what Claude may change.

What Claude can do

  • Browse: list projects, tasks, tags, members, comments, and the recent activity feed.
  • Manage tasks: create tasks, update fields, change workflow status, and post comments.
  • Manage the team: invite members and adjust account or project roles.
  • Overview: fetch your dashboard — active projects, urgent deadlines, and tasks assigned to you.
  • Profile: read and update your own display name.

Example prompts

  • "What tasks are assigned to me in project ACME that are still in progress?"
  • "Post a comment on ACME-42 saying the fix is deployed to staging."
  • "Create a task in ACME titled Update API documentation, priority high, due next Friday, assigned to @alice."
  • "Move every task in the Review column of ACME to Done." Claude lists the matching tasks and asks for confirmation before changing anything.
  • "Give me a quick overview of my Timequip workspace."

Permissions and safety

All actions run under your own Timequip user, so account and project roles still apply — Claude can never do more than you can. For the underlying permission model, see Account Roles and Project Roles. Write tools are marked as such, and Claude asks before destructive changes. To revoke access at any time, remove the connector in Claude settings; the OAuth grant is invalidated immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • If a tool reports a missing permission, reconnect the connector and grant the required scope on the consent screen.
  • If you switched teams, disconnect and reconnect to bind the connection to a different account.
